Ibikoro ni bimwe mu biribwa bitaboneka cyane ariko bifitiye umubiri wacu akamaro kanini. Ni kimwe mu bihangwa bikurira mu butaka nk’imyumbati n’ibijumba.

Hari abantu bitiranya ibikoro n’ibijumba ariko burya biratandukanye. Ibikoro bikungahaye ku ntugamubiri zitandukanye nka vitamini, imyunyungugu, ibinyasukari na poroteyine. Ni byiza kandi ku muntu wabujijwe amavuta na muganga kuko nta binure bigira. Ikindi ni uko ari ibiribwa byoroshye gutekwa.

Ibinyasukari ( carbohydrates)

Ni bimwe mu bitera ingufu umubiri wacu. ibi binyasukari bituma umubiri wacu ubika poroteyine zigakoreshwa mu bindi bitari ugutanga imbaraga. Ibinyasukari usanga mu bikoro ni fibres na starch (amidon). Fibre zirinda indwara z’umutima, umubyibiho ukabije, kuringaniza igipimo cy’isukari n’ibindi. Zinafasha mu igogorwa ry’ibiryo. Starch nayo icagagurwa na za enzyme ikavamo isukari itanga imbaraga mu mubiri.

Vitamini nazo ni zimwe mu ntungamubiri ushobora gusanga mu bikoro. Ibikoro bikungahaye kuri vitamini C, B6, B1 (Thiamine) na B9 izi ku izina rya folate. Vitamin C yongerera ingufu ubudahangarwa bw’umubiri, ikarwanya za kanseri zitandukanye n’izindi ndwara. Vitamini B9 (folate cg folic acid) ifasha mu mikurire y’umwana uri mu nda no mu ikorwa ry’insoro zitukura z’amaraso. vitamin B6 irinda imiyoboro y’amaraso n’umutima ishobora no kurinda gutakaza ibiro. Vitamini B1 nayo ifasha mu mikorere y’umutima n’imyakura. Iyi thiamine kandi igira uruhare mu igogorwa ry’ibiryo kugirango bitange ingufu.  B1 ikoreshwa mu ngirangingo zitandukanye z’umubiri wacu.

Imyunyungugu (minerals)

Imyunyu ngugu nayo ni ifitiye akamaro kanini ubuzima bwacu kandi ushobora kuyisanga mu bikoro. Iyo myunyu ifitiye akamaro kanini umubiri wacu nko gukora poroteyine zo mu maraso zitwa hemoglobin. Muri iyo myunyu harimo manganese na potassium. Manganese ifasha mu igogorwa ry’ibiryo no kugabanya umuvuduko w’amaraso, ikorwa rya zimwe mu ntungamubiri nk’umunyu wa urea. Potassium nayo igenzura umuvuduko w’amaraso, ituma amenyo n’amagufa bikomera, ituma imikaya yacu ikora neza ikanakomera.

Poroteyine (proteins)

Ibikoro bifite poroteyine nubwo atari nyinshi cyane. Zigirira umubiri wacu akamaro kanini nko gutanga imbaraga igihe utarariye ibinyesukari, ituma imikaya ikomera n’ibindi byinshi ndetse no kubaka imibiri yacu. Poroteyine kandi zituma hakorwa za enzymes n’imisemburo yitabazwa mu mikorere itandukanye mu mubiri.[2]
