AS Rangers FC, formerly known as Dragon Super Rangers FC, is a prestigious Burundian football club based in Zone Nyakabiga, Bujumbura. With the nickname "The GERS," this club has a rich history and a strong presence in the Bujumbura Football Association.

Founded in 1994 by Eric Kabeya, a former Burundi International player, AS Rangers FC was established with the aim of nurturing and training young football talents in Nyakabiga. Over the years, the club has become a symbol of excellence and dedication in the local football scene.

In 1999, a significant milestone was achieved when Dragon Super Rangers FC was formed through the merger of two teams, Dragon FC and Super Rangers FC. This union brought together the strengths and talents of both clubs, propelling them to new heights. The newly formed team joined the fourth division of the Bujumbura Football Association, marking the beginning of their remarkable journey.

The year 2000 witnessed AS Rangers FC's debut match in the league against Etoile de Jabe. It was a historic moment as the club's legendary player, Mukinje Jean Marie Vianney, scored their first-ever goal in the league. This achievement set the tone for their future success. AS Rangers FC finished third in the league table that season and earned a well-deserved promotion to the third division.

Throughout the years, AS Rangers FC has consistently showcased their talent and determination. In the 2004 season, they finished second in the league, narrowly missing out on promotion to the second division. Despite this setback, the club remained resilient and focused on their goals.

In 2008, after a period of internal challenges, the club's members made a significant decision to rebrand as Sportive Association of Rangers Football Club (AS Rangers FC). This change marked a new chapter in their history and reflected their commitment to unity and progress. AS Rangers FC joined the fifth division of the Bujumbura Football League of Buyenzi, where they continued to demonstrate their prowess.

In 2010, AS Rangers FC achieved another milestone by finishing second in the league and securing promotion to the fourth division of the Bujumbura Football Association. This accomplishment further solidified their position as a rising force in Burundian football.

Currently, AS Rangers FC competes in the third division, where they continue to showcase their skills and passion for the game. With a rich history and a dedicated team, AS Rangers FC is poised to achieve even greater success in the future.
